This documentation is only for the desktop app. It will be updated soon for the mobile apps as well. Thanks for your patience.

Settings

By tweaking some config, you can customize Radar according to your needs. Click on the gear icon on the top right corner.

Autostart

If you want to keep an eye on your data whenever you are using your system, this setting is helpful. Enabling this config auto starts Radar whenever you log in to your system.

You can enable it by clicking the gear icon on the top-right corner and flipping the switch for 'Autostart'.

Global Shortcut

Global keyboard shortcut is by far the most helpful feature of Radar in my opinion. To glance at your data from any application, you can press ctrl (cmd if Mac) + shift + I, and Radar will magically open. Press the key combination again, and it will hide.

You can enable it by clicking the gear icon on the top-right corner and flipping the switch for the 'Global toggle keyboard shortcut' setting.

A future update will let Users customize the key combination.

Autohide buttons

When you want more room for your data, you can hide the refresh, edit, move button group by default and make it appear on hover.

Select the gear icon on the top right corner and toggle ON the "Display buttons only on hover" config.

Logging

When you can't get some metric to work, you can enable this to see what's going wrong. You can share the logs with the support email and ask for help.

Electron-log

package is used for this. Log locations for all OS have been mentiond below.

  • Mac OS - ~/Library/Logs/radar/main.log
  • Windows - %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\radar\logs\main.log
  • Linux - ~/.config/radar/logs/main.log

Also, when you write custom JS code to get the value or set the notification logic, you can use log.info function for debugging. You can find the log in the location mentiond above.

Dark mode

Radar supports dark mode. You can set the color theme as light, dark or let your system decide the theme. Click on the gear icon on the top right corner and select the theme you prefer.

Export import

You can export your metrics & settings from one device and import that on another device. It's especially helpful when you install the mobile version of Radar which was released for Android and iOS recently.

When you select Export, it creates a JSON file on your device. You can use this JSON file when importing.
